  • Net worth of $25 million or greater; no maximum
  • Owner of a closely held business
  • Has children, partners or key employees to succeed them
  • Has children both inside and outside of the family business
  • Cares intensely about family relationships both inside and outside of business
  • Concerned about asset protection
  • Business is in strong financial condition
  • Business is stable or growth-oriented
  • High integrity and well respected by employees and community
  • Is charitably inclined or community focused
  • Prioritizes reduction of taxes
  • Respects long term relationships
  • Respects and counts on advisors
  • Recognizes the value of a collaborative planning effort both in terms
    of estate/succession planning and as it will impact the family

Typical Client Profile – Life Insurance

  • Face amount $1 million or more; cash value $100,000 or more;
    or annual premium $25,000 or more
  • Age 45 or older (male, female or survivorship)
  • Policies are a part of a comprehensive plan
  • Insured(s) in average to above average health (doesn’t have to
    be perfect)
  • Has not had a recent annual review
  • Relationship with their original agent has changed
  • Policy(ies) are cash-value rich
  • Client has policies that are underperforming
    – Paying more premiums than originally planned
    – Cash values are lower than originally projected
